What I Ate Wednesday :: Fast Food

Good Morning & Happy What I Ate Wednesday!

What I Ate Wednesday is a campaign hosted by Jenn over at Peas and Crayons. Head over to Jenn’s page to find some wonderful meal ideas & recipes from other bloggers.

Since my meals look identical to last week (except Meal #5 & #6), I thought I’d change it up today.

Everyone has those days where they are constantly on the go; overloaded with work, traveling. Or maybe your under the weather, and the thought of cooking sounds awful.

Well, I believe that its fine to indulge in fast food items from time to time. I’m sure if you would have asked me this years ago, my answer may be different, but in today’s world, healthy options DO exist! It’s just up to YOU to make them. Listed below are healthy choices for when your on the go:

So see, just because you may not have time to cook your own meals, there are other ways to eat healthy & nutritious meals.

  1. I haven’t eaten ‘legit’ fast food (like Taco Bell, Burger King, etc.) in years but I like places like Chipotle, Panera, etc. since they have plenty of healthier options. I always get some kind of salad when I go there since they make such amazing (and huge) salads!

  2. I love a McDonald’s #1 hands down as a treat and only have it once in a blue moon. I have making salads; mostly because my freezer freezes the lettuce and making a salad is messy anyway (I know, it’s just me). I like to pick up salad kits sometimes at the grocery store and remove their salad dressing (and save it for picnics) and eat the salad with my own lower cal and fat content dressing.

  3. Hey girl!! I love this post!! I don’t think people realize that there ARE healthy options when they are in a crunch!! Thank you for sharing this information!! P.S – I will be emailing you tonight! πŸ˜‰

  4. I haven’t eaten fast food in forever, it’s pretty hard to find a gluten-free and vegetarian meal, unless I’m down for ice cream for dinner (which is awesome but not so satisfying). Though I do love Moe’s and other Tex Mex inspired chains because their rice bowls are both tasty and filling.
